Newborn FAQ's
When should I book my Newborn Photos?
Anytime after your 20 week scan is the perfect time. The earlier the better! We don’t know when baby will arrive, so we will book you in for around 14 days after your due date (or scheduled birth date). Newborn sessions can be amended within one month of the booked date, availability dependant - but, newborn sessions take priority in my calendar. Please get in touch as soon as possible to make sure I can fit you in during that perfect time.
What If my newborn baby is unsettled during our photography session?
I get it, this can be quite flustering when the baby is upset when others are around, especially if it's your first little bundle of joy. But babies are kinda renowned for crying, my two did (and still do sometimes) a lot of it - I'm very used to it and as much as I don't want any little one to be upset, it doesn't phase me and I'm happy to do anything that'll help! As long as we all remain relaxed, address anything that needs to sorted whether, it's a feed, burp, cuddles with another parent, or nappy change, normally any unsettledness will pass and we can continue and we can go at your pace.
What's should I wear for my Newborn photos?
Once you have booked your session, you will receive a Welcome Guide and What to wear guide. There is tonnes of information, inspiration and helpful tips for your outfits in there. Postpartum can be delicate, but the most beautiful time to honour your body, being comfortable is paramount and style is so personal, so absolutely dress how feels right. However, I'd highly recommend opting for neutral or light pastel colours for Newborn sessions.
Where can I have my photos taken for a Newborn Photography Session?
At home newborn photography sessions are gorgeous, snuggly and relaxing, but if that's not so you, we can absolutely get out and about - especially if you have older siblings in the mix, somewhere a bit more entertaining might really suit them. The beach, fields or coast path could work wonderfully. I cover From Saltash in Cornwall, to Plymouth, South Hams and as far as Exeter (travel fees apply over 10 miles from Newton Ferrers)
