Salt & Sage


Who are Salt & Sage? An editorial writing service led by former journalists Manfreda Cavazza and Felicity Haythorn. Strategic content and story-led copy for health and lifestyle brands.


What did they need? A diverse range of photographs that align with Salt & Sage's brand refresh. Freddie and Felicity joined forces a few years ago, created a brand and had photo's taken that did the job at the time. 3 years down the line and they are clearer than ever on the service they provide, their brand values, their dream client and their vision going forward. They came to me with a phenomenal brief and stunning Pinterest board that instantly sparked creativity. Flea and I met to discuss the finer details, unconventional portraits, motion blur, incense sticks and how to make the photos artsy, honest and expressive. Alongside photographs of themselves, I was tasked with creating some faceless imagery to complement, that can be used as filler photos for website and social media - details, scenery etc. Because, nobody really wants to see boring stock imagery or AI that lacks personality these days, right? We decided on the ever popular beach, Mothecombe, along with addition of the little tea-house and school house restaurant to give the gallery diversity, longevity and an insight into F&F's personalities.


What service did they require? With multiple locations and various outfit changes, we opted for the half-day package, which includes consultation, outfit and styling advice, location scouting, 4 hours of happy snapping, along with a full gallery of beautiful photographs.
